Combined-cycle power plant purchase mulled by TVA

The Tennessee Valley Authority has negotiated an agreement to buy the 968 MW Magnolia Combined-Cycle Gas Plant in Mississippi from Kelson Limited Partnership, a unit of Kelson Energy Inc. The deal is subject to regulatory and company approvals and financial terms were not disclosed.

TVA has purchased power from the three-unit, natural gas-fired electric generating plant since 2003.
