Coal-fired power plant equipment to be supplied by SPX unit

SPX Heat Transfer Inc., a unit of SPX Corp. (NYSE: SPW), was awarded a $25 million contract to supply feedwater heaters and spare parts to three supercritical coal-fired power plants in India.

National Thermal Power Corp. will own the BARH coal-fired power plant and OJSC Power Machines is designing, engineering, constructing and building it.

SPX will supply the equipment for Phase I of the plant, which includes units 1, 2 and 3 that are expected to generate 1,980 MW of power. SPX will manufacture the heaters at its main facility in Tulsa, Okla. and ship them to India.
