150 MW natural gas-fired power plant enters service

NAES Corp. began commercial operations at the 150 MW Dave Gates Generating Station in Montana that is owned by NorthWestern Energy.

The power plant is a regulating reserve plant, which provides the reserve capacity needed to maintain transmission system reliability and balance on a moment-by-moment basis.

Construction began in August 2009 and it is equipped with emission control technology.
