Wood Group wins O and M contract

Wood Group GTS was awarded an operations & maintenance (O&M) contract by Bayonne Energy Center LLC for the 512 MW natural gas-fired Bayonne Energy Center in New Jersey.

While working closely with Barton Malow Co., the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, during commissioning, Wood will provide mobilization and start-up services before assuming full responsibility for the plant under the seven-year O&M portion of the contract.

The Bayonne Energy Center will use eight duel-fuel, rapid start-up Rolls-Royce Trent 60 gas turbines that will enable the facility to rapidly respond to changing power demands. The plant is expected to be fully operational by spring 2012.
