Solar energy plant installed at McGraw Hill

The McGraw-Hill Cos. (NYSE: MHP) and NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV), a unit of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), plan to build a 14.1 MW net-metered solar system on McGraw-Hill's East Windsor, N.J., campus.

NJRCEV will invest $60 million to develop and install the ground mount solar array on a 50-acre parcel on McGraw-Hill's property adjacent to the corporation's two office buildings, including an 180,000 square-foot data center. Advanced Solar Products will install the project with assistance from MVM Advisors LLC.

The system is expected to be completed in two phases, with 50 percent of the capacity expected online in December 2011 and the other half by March 2012.
