Siemens to be EPC on combined-cycle plant

Siemens Energy booked an order to supply power island equipment for the planned 637 MW Lake Side 2 combined-cycle power plant next to PacifiCorp’s existing 588 MW Lake Side combined-cycle plant in Utah.

Siemens will supply two SGT6-5000F gas turbines, one SST6-5000 steam turbine installed in a combined-cycle configuration and two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs). Siemens will also provide construction and commissioning under a long-term service agreement.

The EPC contractor for the facility will be CH2M Hill Engineers Inc. Rocky Mountain Power, a unit of PacifiCorp (NASDAQ: PPWRM), will own and operate the plants, which is expected to begin commercial operation in 2014.
