Mortenson picked for wind energy work

Coram California Development LLC, owned by Brookfield Renewable Power and Coram California Development Management LLC, chose Mortenson to construct a 102 MW wind project near Tehachapi, Calif. The project will use 34, 3 MW Vestas turbines.

Mortenson will be responsible for the design and construction of access roads, foundations, turbine transportation and erection, overhead and underground collection, overhead and underground transmission lines, two 66 kV substations and an operations and maintenance building.

Construction began in June and is expected to be complete by March 2012. The wind project is Mortenson's sixth in California.
