IGCC power plant in Texas signs PPA

Summit Power Group’s 400 MW Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP) signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with CPS Energy for 200 MW of electricity generated from the proposed integrated gasification combined cycle station. The plant is expected to be in operations by 2014 or 2015.

The plant is designed to capture 90 percent of the carbon dioxide, 99 percent of sulfur, more than 95 percent of mercury and 90 percent of nitrogen oxides.

TCEP received its final air quality permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in December 2010.
