Brazil’s yearly wind power additions reach 900 MW by 2020

Capacity additions of wind power in Brazil could reach an average of 894 MW annually by 2020, according to estimates from the Energy Research Company, (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética), a state-owned company responsible for conducting strategic research on the energy industry.
According to recent estimates, the installed wind power capacity in the country will grow from 1283 MW in 2011 to 5272 MW in 2012. This only takes account of the projects currently in the pipeline reports Energias Renvoables..
By 2020, Brazil's installed capacity could reach an impressive 11 532 MW.
Wind energy in Brazil is expected to represent 59 per cent of the expansion of renewable energy expected for the next decade, the report added.
