Toys R Us rooftop solar

Toys "R" Us is installing a 5.38 MW, 20-acre rooftop solar installation at its distribution center in Flanders, N.J., which will generate 72 percent of the building’s electricity annually.

Constellation Energy will build, own and maintain the system and Toys “R” Us will buy the electricity through a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The company also is installing rooftop solar panels at a store in Secaucus, N.J. That system is being installed in partnership with Hartz Solar, a unit of real estate developer Hartz Mountain Industries of Secaucus.
