KCPL signs PPA for wind farm

Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) signed a power purchase agreement for 131 MW of wind energy generated from a planned wind farm in Kansas. CPV Renewable Energy Co. LLC will build and operate the project.

Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2011. The first 100 MW is scheduled to enter service by June 2012 with the remaining 31 MW going into operation by the end of 2012.
