Green Mountain Power signs nuclear PPA

Green Mountain Power signed a tentative 23-year power purchase agreement to buy 60 MW of power from the 1,245 MW Seabrook nuclear power plant in Vermont. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Beginning in 2015, Green Mountain will buy 60 MW of power from the plant that is owned by NextEra Energy Resources LLC. That will decrease to 40 MW toward the end of the deal.

The Seabrook nuclear plant has been in operations since 1990.
