GE to supply combined-cycle equipment in Russia

GE will supply gas turbine technology for a 200 MW combined-cycle power plant in Russia.

GE will supply a Frame 6FA gas turbine and associated generator for the Kolpino combined-cycle project in St. Petersburg. GSR Energo, a Russian electricity and heat supplier, is building the plant in two phases. The first phase will add 110 MW of capacity while the second phase will add 89 MW of electricity capacity.

The equipment is expected to be shipped by the end of 2011, with commercial operation scheduled for 2013.
