Emerson to provide solar inverters

Emerson was awarded a contract from Wind Turbine &Energy Cables Corp. to supply power inverters for the 30 MW Webberville solar power plant in Texas.

Construction on the plant began in April and is expected to be operational by the end of 2011. The project is owned, developed and financed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures. Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. will construct the project and provide operations and maintenance services for five years.

The facility will provide electricity for Austin Energy for 25 years under a long-term power purchase agreement.
