Wind project breaks ground

US Wind Force LLC and Edison Mission Energy (EME) have begun construction on the $130 million, 55 MW Pinnacle Wind Farm near Keyser, W. Va.

Electricity from the project will be sold under 20-year power purchase agreements with the University of Maryland System and the Maryland Department of General Services.

The project will include 23 turbines. The wind farm is expected to be complete by the end of 2011.
