URS to install AQCS in two plants

URS Corp. said that Advatech LLC, a joint venture between URS and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, has been awarded a contract by Ameren Energy Generating Co. to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services to install air quality control systems at Ameren’s Newton Power Station in Illinois. The project is scheduled for completion in 2014.

URS also signed a three-year contract extension to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the installation of two flue gas desulfurization systems at Detroit Edison’s Monroe power plant in Michigan. The first system is scheduled for installation by November 2013 and the second by May 2014.
