Solar power inverter plant begins operations

Siemens Industry Inc. (NYSE: SI) began producing its Sinvert solar inverters at its recently upgraded manufacturing plant in Illinois.

Siemens invested $10 million in upgrading two buildings at the location. The facility is capable of producing 500 MW of inverters.

In addition to producing solar inverters, Siemens also manufactures motor control centers, enclosed motor starters, switchboards and control cabinets at the facilities.
