Schott names new leader

Schott North America Inc. named Linda Mayer as president and CEO effective as of April 1, 2011, the first female to hold the position with the company.

Mayer replaces Dr. Gerald Fine became a director of Schott Corp. and a member of the company’s North American Advisory Board in January.

Mayer most recently was a vice president and general manager for the aerial work platform division of Terex Corp. Prior to joining Terex, Ms. Mayer was vice president of Corporate Marketing at Rexnord Corp., a manufacturer of power transmission and industrial components.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in history from Stanford University, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and an MA from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
