Natural gas-fired power plant to be complete

Enmax Shepard Inc., a unit of Enmax Energy Corp., awarded a contract to KBV to complete the 800 MW Shepard natural gas-fired power plant in Calgary.

Under terms of the contract, KBV, a joint venture between Kiewit Energy Canada Corp. and Black & Veatch Canada Co., will complete the final design and build the plant.

The plant uses two 240 MW natural gas-fired turbine generators and one 320 MW steam turbine generator. Construction is expected to begin in late April 2011 and is scheduled for completion in August 2015.
