Govt data center receives data backup system

Active Power, a manufacturer of backup power systems and continuous infrastructure solutions, shipped three CleanSource 1200 kVA uninterruptible power supply systems for an agency within the U.S. government.

The multi-megawatt deployment will provide power protection to one of the agency’s datacenters on the East Coast. The company integrated its flywheel energy storage technology and UPS electronics into one cabinet to reduce the amount of space required.

All three systems are expected to be installed in the second quarter of 2011.
