Google invests 100 million in wind farm

A $2 billion, 845 MW wind energy farm in Oregon is receiving a $100 million investment from Google.

Shepherds Flat will use 338 GE’s 2.5xl wind turbines and is expected to be one of the largest wind projects in the world. It is expected to reach commercial operations by 2012. Southern California Edison entered into a contract to buy the wind power.
