GE taller turbines

GE introduced taller wind turbine towers with hub heights in excess of 426.5 feet, offered initially for the company’s 2.5 MW series, including the 2.75-103 wind turbine.

The new tower will have a pre-cast concrete and tubular steel design and is designed to work better in densely forested areas and hillside locations that are prone to high turbulence.

Initial markets for the wind turbine towers will be Canada, Germany, Scandinavia, Poland and Romania.
