Fluor awarded contract

SunPower Corp. awarded Fluor Corp. a contract to construct the 20 MW Copper Crossing photovoltaic solar power plant in Arizona.

Iberdrola Renewables is developing Copper Crossing on 144 acres in Arizona and will own and operate it. The company will sell the electricity under a long-term contract Salt River Project.

The plant will use the SunPower OasisPower Plant product, a modular solar power block. The plant, which began construction December 2010, will be fully operational in 2011.
