Entergy buys combined-cycle plants

Entergy Louisiana LLC has purchased the 580 MW Acadia Energy Center Power Block 2 for $300 million.

Acadia Power Partners LLC sold the combined-cycle natural gas-fired power plant. The deal includes 50 percent of the facility’s common assets. The natural gas-fired plant uses emission controls and combined-cycle gas turbine and is well-suited for load-following and base load operation. Several upgrades will be implemented, including construction of a natural gas pipeline and transmission improvements.

Cleco Power LLC bought Power Block 1 and the other 50 percent interest and will operate the entire facility.
