TransAlta wind

TransAlta Corp. will begin construction on the $205 million, 66 MW New Richmond wind energy project in Quebec.

Hydro-Quebec Distribution signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with the wind farm. TransAlta is also working with Enercon for the supply and installation of 33 E82 wind turbines and construction of the associated infrastructure. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012.
