DOE wind loan guarantee

A 50.6 MW wind farm was offered a conditional $102 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Record Hill Wind LLC includes the plant and an eight-mile-long transmission line and interconnection equipment in Maine.

Wagner Wind Energy and Independence Wind of Maine are developing and will manage the plant, which uses 22 SWT 2.3-93 wind turbines.

The turbines will be installed with turbine load control technology, a system of sensors and processing software that allows the turbines to continue to generate electricity under turbulent conditions, rather than be shut down completely.
