Copper Mountain operating

Sempra Generation’s 48 MW Copper Mountain solar power plant became fully operational.

The project is located next to Sempra Generation's 10 MW El Dorado Solar installation in Boulder City, Nev.

Construction on Copper Mountain Solar began in January 2010 and was completed in December 2010. The project uses 775,000 thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, which convert sunlight directly into electricity.

The power from Copper Mountain and El Dorado has been sold to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) under separate 20-year power purchase agreements.
