GE Energy Financial Services plans to invest C$40 million (US$40.4 million) in a 77 MW wind energy project being developed by Finavera Wind Energy Inc. in British Columbia.

Finavera will retain a 30 percent stake in the C$200 million Wildemare project. The remaining C$160 million in debt will be raised by the project's partners.

Finavera is also in talks with GE on partnering on its other wind farms, the 47 MW Tumbler Ridge, 117 MW Meikle and 60 MW Bullmoose wind energy projects.
