GE Oil & Gas is supplying a steam turbine generator for a 20 MW cogeneration plant at the Nippon Paper Industries U.S.A. pulp and paper mill in Port Angeles, Wash. The steam turbine will be powered by residue from local timber operations.
The steam turbine will be manufactured at the Thermodyn unit of GE Oil & Gas in Le Creusot, France and will be shipped to the project site in February 2012. Commercial operation is scheduled for later that year. The plant will produce power and steam for use in the pulp and paper mill, with excess electricity sold to local power companies.
