Emerson notches $95m order to modernize Europe’s largest power plant

Emerson Process Management has secured a $95m contract with Polish utility Polska Grupa Energetyczna to modernize six generating units at the Belchatow coal fired power plant.
As both the main automation and electrical contractor, it will be responsible for project management, procurement, engineering, design, installation and implementing new instrumentation, control and electrical subsystems.
Emerson won contracts in 2007 and 2009 to assist with earlier phases of Polska Grupa Energetyczna's modernization programme. The company did not say when it expected the renovation to be completed.
