Dong Energy commissions 824 MW Severn CCGT in UK

Dong Energy, Denmark’s biggest utility, has inaugurated its the 824 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) Severn plant, its first gas power station in the UK.
The Severn Power station at Uskmouth in south Wales cost GBP600m ($966m), according to Bloomberg.
Dong bought the Severn project, built by Siemens, from the Welsh Power Group  in 2009. Construction of the plant began in 2007, and it started operating in November of last year. The plant has a thermal efficiency of 58 per cent.
The Danish utility also has 30 per cent of the UK’s offshore wind market.
