Toshiba, IHI team nuclear steam turbine parts

Toshiba and IHI are to create a joint venture to build steam turbine parts for nuclear power plants.

Toshiba will market the products to customers when it offers its boiling water reactors and pressurized water reactors fabricated by its Westinghouse Electric unit in the US, Toshiba said in a statement, reported the Financial Times.

IHI will own 52 per cent of the venture, Toshiba IHI Power Systems, which will be based in Yokohama, near Tokyo. Toshiba will own the remainder.
