Toshiba, Bulgaria state utility sign co-operation agreement

Toshiba and state-owned Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD have signed a memorandum of understanding to discuss increased cooperation in energy and energy efficiency.
The two parties may cooperate more closely in thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power and solar photovoltaic power generation projects, and increasing the efficiency of power transmission and distribution through the development of smart grids, they said in a statement.
Toshiba has sold equipment for the Chaira hydropower plant in Bulgaria and rehabilitated the Kozloduy nuclear power plant and the Maritsa East 2 thermal power plant.
