Mexican wind facility secures long-term financing

EDF Energies Nouvelles has secured long-term financing for the 67.5 MW La Malta La Ventosa wind farm in Mexico.
The funds totals $114m and has been obtained through four different sources of credit, including the Inter-American Development Bank and the International Financing Corporation, part of the World Bank.
The investment, which has a 14-year term, is expected to contribute to the development of the Tehuantepec Isthmus in the south of the country.
The La Mata La Ventosa wind farm was commissioned in March of last year.
“La Mata La Ventosa wind farm is located in southern Mexico in the Tehuantepec Isthmus, one of the best wind resources areas, and comprises 27 Clipper turbines”, said Fabienne Demol, head of New Business Development at EDF Energies Nouvelles.
