Capstone Turbine Corp. sold a C800 Power Package and General Electric Clean Cycle waste heat recovery generator to a food manufacturer in Mexico. The new units will be commissioned in January 2011.

Capstone partnered with Calnetix Power Solutions Inc. (which was acquired by GE in October) to sell the zero emission waste heat recovery generator for microturbine applications.

The unidentified food manufacturer previously had six Capstone C65 microturbines operating at a different plant. Capstone said its local distributor is pursuing business at as many as 18 other plants.

At the food manufacturer's plant, the Capstone and GE units will serve as base-load power connected to the grid, with the remaining power supplied by the grid.
