Hendry promoted to CFO post at Penn West

David Hendry has been elevated to the role of chief financial officer of Penn West Petroleum Ltd., Calgary, where he’ll succeed the outgoing David Dyck. Hendry had served as the company's vice-president of finance for the last 2 years.

Hendry has more than 25 years of finance experience, most recently as finance vice-president at Talisman Energy Inc., where he also served overseas for 9 years in the Norway and UK North Sea offices. He spent the first 9 years of his career in public accounting, largely at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dyck served as Penn West’s chief financial officer for nearly 3 years. Gregg Gegunde, senior vice-president of exploitation, production, and delivery, also is departing the company. His 18 years at Penn West were served in a variety of leadership roles.

The latest senior management changes follow the October appointment of President and Chief Executive Officer David French (OGJ Online, Oct. 4, 2016).
