Daniel Coombs has been appointed LyondellBasell’s executive vice-president, manufacturing and refining. He succeeds Kevin Brown, who is retiring in mid-February.
Coombs currently serves as executive vice-president, global olefins and polyolefins, and technology, and is a member of the company’s management board.
In addition to manufacturing and refining, Coombs will have additional responsibility for the company’s technology business, global projects, global engineering services, and procurement functions. He has more than 38 years of industry experience, including 22 years in manufacturing in the US and the Middle East as well as major capital project management.
Brown became executive vice-president, manufacturing and refining, in January 2015. He joined LyondellBasell in October 2009 as senior vice-president of refining.
Due to the changes, Paul Augustowski, currently senior vice-president, olefins and polyolefins, Americas, will no longer report to Coombs and will report directly to Bob Patel, LyondellBasell chief executive officer and chairman. Richard Roudeix, currently senior vice-president, olefins and polyolefins, Europe, will report directly to Patel as well.
Roudeix will expand his responsibilities to include the entire olefins and polyolefins, Europe, Asia, and international segment, which includes joint ventures and related marketing and PP compounding. Due to the additional responsibilities, his title will change to senior vice-president, olefins and polyolefins, Europe, Asia, and international.
