Nelson Silva has been appointed senior consultant by Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), where he will coordinate its strategic review process and help in the “redesign” of its management structure, the Brazilian state-owned firm reported on June 6.
Pedro Parente, Petrobras’ newly appointed chief executive officer (OGJ Online, May 20, 2016), said he brought Silva aboard to expedite those changes. Silva will report to Parente and direct the current executive management strategy and organization, which will continue to be led by Carlos Alberto de Oliveira.
Silva previously served as chief executive officer of the Brazilian arm of BG Group PLC until its recent sale to Royal Dutch Shell PLC (OGJ Online, Apr. 8, 2015).
