Ballard named IOGP executive director

Gordon Ballard has been appointed executive director of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). He succeeds Michael Engell-Jensen, who is retiring after 5 years.

Gordon comes to IOGP after spending 30 years working with oil field services company Schlumberger on four continents. He became Schlumberger’s UK Chair in 2005. He has also served as Chair of the UK’s Oil & Gas Industry Council and of OPITO International, the upstream oil and gas skills organization, and was co-chair of industry trade association Oil & Gas UK.
