Jacobs receives Suncor contract for in-situ development

Suncor Energy Inc. has let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for project management and engineering services for the proposed Meadow Creek East facility in northeastern Alberta.

The steam-assisted gravity drainage oil sands development is jointly held by operator Suncor and Nexen Energy ULC. Site is about 45 km south of Fort McMurray.

Project plans include two phases. Jacobs is working with Suncor to standardize central processing facility design to reduce capital costs.
