PetroChina reports first half results

PetroChina Co. Ltd. reported first-half increases in output of crude, natural gas, and refined products compared with a year earlier.

The company produced 477.5 million bbl of crude, an increase of 2.6%. Marketable gas output gained 3.6% to 1.549 tcf.

PetroChina produced 46.475 million tons of refined oil products, a 1% increase. The company processed 495.7 million bbl of crude, slightly below first-half 2014 (OGJ Online, Dec. 30, 2014).

Its exploration and production segment earned 32.917 billion yuan from operations, a 67.8% decrease (OGJ Online, Mar. 16, 2015).

PetroChina said its refining and chemicals segment had profits from operations of 4.657 billion yuan. Refining earned 5.55 billion yuan and chemicals lost 893 million yuan.

The natural gas and pipeline segment earned 14.867 billion yuan from operations, but had a net loss of 10.626 billion yuan on the sales of imported natural gas and LNG.
