Houssin to lead IFP Energies nouvelles

Didier Houssin has been appointed by the French government to be chairman and chief executive officer of IFP Energies nouvelles. He succeeds Olivier Appert, who led the public research and training organization for 12 years.

Houssin held government positions during 1983-2007, including a secondment to Total during 1987-90. Since July 2007 he has worked at the International Energy Agency, most recently as director of sustainable energy policy and technology.
