GDF Suez platform incident in North Sea kills two workers

Two workers were killed and another injured on the Danish North Sea L5A gas platform operated by GDF Suez SA, the company comfirmed.

The platform, which lies 100 km north of Den Helder, Netherlands, already was shut for maintenance and was depressurized. GDF Suez of Paris reported no hydrocarbon leak resulted.

Pressure tests involving water injection were under way when an air hose snapped, hitting three workers, the company said. The injured person was hospitalized.

GDF Suez said the incident was under investigation by the company and regulators.
