Bill Barrett names chief executive, president

Bill Barrett Corp., Denver, has named R. Scot Woodall as chief executive officer and president. Woodall also was named to the company's board of directors. He had served as chief executive officer on an interim basis since January.

Woodall has more than 28 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry, including serving as chief operating officer at Bill Barrett Corp. since July 2010 and previously as executive vice-president and senior vice-president of operations beginning April 2007.

Before that, Woodall was at Forest Oil Corp. for 7 years with his last assignment being senior vice-president for Forest’s western region.
