CNPC launches its first jack up rig

China National Petroleum Corp. has commissioned the first jack up drilling rig designed and manufactured by its CNPC Bohai Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd. unit.

The CP-300 rig can drill to 30,000 ft in as much as 300 ft of water. It can accommodate 105 workers.

The rig was launched at the new Panjin Port, Liaoning Province, on Bohai Bay.
