Aker Solutions to deliver Troll subsea trees

By OGJ editors

Statoil has let a contract to Aker Solutions for six subsea trees and a tool package for the oil section of giant Troll oil and gas field in the northern North Sea offshore Norway (OGJ Online, Sept. 21, 2011).

The contract includes an option for nine additional subsea trees and control systems.

Aker Solutions said it delivered the 100th subsea tree for Troll field last year.

Statoil has drilled more than 110 horizontal production wells into the field’s thin oil reservoirs, where water depths exceed 300 m.

Statoil operates the field with a 30.58% interest. Other interests are Petoro 56%, Norske Shell 8.10%, Total E&P Norge 3.69%, and ConocoPhillips Skandinavia 1.62%.
