The American Association of Petroleum Geologists has named David Curtiss as executive director of AAPG and the AAPG Foundation.

The association also named David Lange to the newly created position of deputy director of the association and foundation. Both positions take effect Aug. 16, 2011.

As executive director, Curtiss succeeds Richard Fritz, who resigned in April after serving 11-1/2 years. Curtiss served as director of the AAPG GeoDC office since December 2007.

Lange has been AAPG chief financial officer since July 2002 and interim executive director since April 2011.
