By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, July 14
-- A group led by Range Resources Ltd., Perth, has spudded the Mukhiani-1 onshore wildcat in Georgia towards a projected target depth of 3,500 m.

The recently completed geochemical helium survey undertaken by Range confirmed the suitability of the first drill location with oil exploration and development prospectivity complementing the earlier seismic work completed on the target.

A second well is to follow. Others in the joint venture are Strait Oil & Gas and Red Emperor Resources.
