Burullus Gas to add subsea wells off Egypt

HOUSTON, June 14
-- Burullus Gas Co. let an engineering, procurement, installation, and construction contract to Saipem Group for expanding subsea gas production in the West Delta Deep Marine concession, about 90 km off northwest Nile Delta of Egypt.

Water depths are between 400 and 1,000 m.

The EPIC contract is for seven subsea wellheads and relevant systems, umbilicals, and flowlines that will connect to existing systems.

Saipem will use its Saipem FDS vessel to carry out the offshore work.

Burullus Gas is a joint venture of British Gas International Ltd. 25%, Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. 25%, and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. 50%.
