Russia: Terra to reactivate Kalmykia gas field

By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, May 25
– Terra Resources PLC has engaged Baker Hughes Inc. for a 4-6 month work program to model the potential redevelopment of a high-pressure gas field in the Kalmykia region of the North Caspian basin in Russia.

Terra Resources acquired North Caspian oil and gas concessions that contain 64 wells, 62 of which were producing. The wells were capped because of previous low gas prices and technology that could not handle the volume produced by high-pressure wells. Terra Resources plans to reopen the wells and secure transportation via newly built gas and oil pipelines.
